Hi, I’m Maggie and I love to sew!
While I have known HOW to sew for as long as I can remember, I wasn’t “good” at it until relatively recently. A few years ago I decided I wanted to buckle down and get really good at sewing so that I could make all the things that I am constantly dreaming up in my head.
While I will likely never actually have enough time to make all the things I want to (there are only 24 hours in a day, after all) I have learned A LOT in over the past few years and want to share what I know with others. Three sewing machines, a lot of research and practice, and maybe a few cuss words later, I decided to start a blog. My goal with this site to help others learn how to sew with easy to follow tutorials and lots of tips and what-not-to-do (almost always from doing it the wrong way myself). When you are just starting out sewing can be very intimidating. I aim to take the mystery out of learning to sew and help others get started, even if you have never used a sewing machine before. I won’t lie and say sewing is super easy, but it also isn’t super hard. You just need a little know-how and you can’t be afraid of messing up. That’s what they make seam rippers for. 🙂
The beautiful thing about sewing is there is always something new to learn. I learn a new skill or trick every time I sit down at my machine to make a new project, so there is always something new to talk about here on the blog.
So please stick around and explore Miss Maggie Makes. You can find me Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and Bloglovin’ and you can also stay in touch through the Miss Maggie Makes newsletter. I promise not to spam you with too many pictures of dogs and babies. 🙂
